Bridgeport Education Association: VAM or Value Added Mumbo-Jumbo

In these times good information is critical. The BEA is posting this blog for members and interested others to provide up-to-date information and perspective on events in our state and elsewhere.

Education "reformers" have hidden behind their marketing, but the results of their brand of education are starting to impact students and their families. Most do not like the reality of what they have been sold.

Our position is that public education is hard work. It is not broken. It is not in need of competition or incentives. It is not mismanaged. It does not need to be privatized. Each teacher, staff and administration in each school needs to do the hard work, not out of fear of losing their job, but out of love for the work and the children entrusted to their care.
